About Vivian

Vivian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the Society of Construction Law Hong Kong Scholar for 2026. She joined Chambers upon completing her pupillage with Mr Calvin Cheuk SC, Mr Andrew Raffell, Mr Gary Soo and Mr Christopher To.

Vivian is developing a mixed practice, with a focus on criminal law, construction and arbitration.

In criminal practice, Vivian appeared as junior counsel, led by Mr Anthony Yuen, for the first defendant in HKSAR v Hung Da Xuan & Huang Che Shao, HCCC 262/2025, a 16-day High Court retrial concerning trafficking in dangerous drugs. During pupillage, she also assisted in a range of criminal trials, including High Court jury trials concerning conspiracy to traffic in dangerous drugs and murder, and a District Court trial concerning money laundering. She also assisted with criminal appellate work.

Vivian welcomes instructions in construction disputes, including construction arbitration and related court proceedings.

Prior to joining the Bar, she worked as a claims consultant and contract administrator. She has experience with a range of claims concerning extensions of time, variations, final accounts, defects and acceleration under General Conditions of Contract, NEC4 and FIDIC forms. Vivian’s wider commercial experience also includes supporting asset-management and exit strategies for cross-border real-estate investments, and in-house legal and commercial work in the media and entertainment industry, including work on joint-venture and investment projects and the drafting, review and negotiation of management, licensing, co-investment and sponsorship agreements.

During pupillage, Vivian assisted on construction arbitrations and High Court proceedings, including arbitrations seated in Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Maldives and the United States. She also gained exposure to arbitration-related interim relief applications and arbitral procedure.

Vivian was also admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia, in 2012.

Vivian is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
