About Henry
Henry was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2022 after completing pupillage with Mr John Reading SC, Mr Giles Surman, Dr David Fong and Mr Joe Chan.
Henry maintains a broad civil practice with an emphasis on medical negligence, personal injuries, commercial litigation, company law, injunctions, asset recovery and cross-border enforcement of judgments. He also has experience in wills and probate, defamation and land matters.
In the criminal sphere, Henry has experience in industrial summonses and white-collar crime. This includes acting as a junior counsel for a Project Director of Jacobs China Ltd charged with conspiracy to defraud and statutory fraud in connection with the falsification of concrete test results for the mega infrastructure project, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, in HKSAR v. Leslie Swann & Anor [2024] HKDC 768 and [2024] HKDC 1091.
Henry regularly appears as sole advocate and as led junior in the High Court and District Court.
Before joining the Bar, Henry obtained his MA Law from the University of Law and his PCLL from City University of Hong Kong, having previously completed a BSc (Hons) in Biology with a Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence at the University of Bath.
Henry is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

White-collar crime
- HKSAR v. Leslie Swann & Anor [2024] HKDC 768 and [2024] HKDC 1091 – acted for a Project Director of Jacobs China Ltd, who was acquitted of conspiracy to defraud and fraud concerning falsified concrete compression tests for the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge, in the recusal application, stay of proceedings, 25-day trial and defence costs application (led by John Reading SC and Benson Tsoi (now Benson Tsoi SC))
- HKSAR v. Lo Kim Ting [2026] HKDC 702 – acted for a company director in the food and beverages industry facing 6 counts of statutory fraud contrary to s.16A of the Theft Ordinance (led by John Reading SC)
- 香港特別行政區 訴 陳豪偉及另二人 [2026] HKDC 1369 – acted for the prosecution of 3 defendants suspected of operating a telephone scam corporation (led by Charles Chan (now Charles Chan SC))
Commercial
- CJJ v. TPY (HCA 2248/2025) – represented the Defendant on a contested application to set aside a regular default judgment. The case involved issues of gifts versus loans, gifts versus revocable licences to use, and promissory estoppel in the context of a domestic relationship (as sole advocate)
- JHH v. Paola Dindo & Associates Limited & Anor (DCCJ 4884/2026) – appeared for the owner of a unique work of art on an Order 29 application for interim delivery-up against a bailee, together with a limited mandatory access order against the landlord of the premises where the artwork was kept (as sole advocate)
- Wellington Investment Company Limited v. Hong Kong Institute of Languages Limited (HCA 1813/2025) – appeared for the plaintiff landlord in opposing a stay of execution application (as sole advocate)
- Oasis Kindergarten Ltd v. Kowloon Tong Baptist Church [2025] HKCFI 467 (HCA 684/2019) – acted for the plaintiff kindergarten. Obtained costs despite applying to discontinue the action and to withdraw an injunction summons (as sole advocate)
- H.K. Sources Finance Ltd v. Ling Kai Wan Paul & Anor [2024] HKCFI 1141 – assisted in acting for the defendant-wife in defending a claim for vacant possession based on a prior common intention constructive trust with the defendant-husband and the plaintiff’s breaches of the Money Lenders Ordinance (with Lawrence Cheung)
- Cho Yuk Ping v. Lau Choi Kee Papers Company Limited (DCCJ 3176/2023) – acted for a paper recycling company in resisting Summary Judgment based on alleged loans paid during a joint venture (as sole advocate)

- Advising a councillor of a Church in Hong Kong regarding measures against his unlawful removal from the Church as a director and member (as sole counsel)
- Advising a Texas-based marketing company regarding the enforcement measures of a US judgment debt against a HK-listed company incorporated in the Cayman Islands (as sole counsel)
- Advising an international data analytics company regarding cross-jurisdictional gambling and the extraterritorial elements of the Gambling Ordinance, Cap. 148 (led by John Reading SC)
- Advising a US engineering firm regarding questions of privilege, disclosure and res judicata in the context of allegations of fraud (with Benson Tsoi (now Benson Tsoi SC))
- Advising a local construction and engineering company on questions involving the law of easement, abatement and the doctrine of frustration (as sole counsel)
- Advising on the merits, liability and quantum of a long-lasting water-leakage action involving a quintet of litigants (as sole counsel)
