About Henry
Henry Chung was called to the bar in 2022 following successful completion of his pupillage with Mr John Reading SC, Mr Giles Surman, Mr Lawrence Cheung, Dr David Fong and Mr Joe Chan.
Henry is building a broad civil and matrimonial practice with an emphasis upon commercial and company litigation, probate and property law, defamation and matrimonial finance. On the criminal side, Henry has experience in both white-collar and organised crime.
Prior to joining the Bar, Henry obtained his MA Law degree at University of Law and PCLL at City University of Hong Kong (Dean’s List) after completing his BScs (Hons) Biology with Deans Award for Academic Excellence Scholarship at University of Bath.

Leslie Swann & Anor [2024] HKDC 768 and [2024] HKDC 1091- acting for a Project Director of Jacobs China Ltd charged with conspiracy to defraud and statutory fraud concerning false concrete compression tests for the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (the longest sea crossing and the longest open-sea fixed link in the world) in the recusal application, stay of proceedings, 25 day trial and defence costs application (led by John Reading SC and Benson Tsoi (now Benson Tsoi SC))

- Oasis Kindergarten Ltd v. Kowloon Tong Baptist Church [2025] HKCFI 467 (HCA 684/2019) - acting for the plaintiff kindergarten. Obtained an immediate costs order despite application to discontinue the action and to withdraw an injunction summons (as sole advocate)
- Cho Yuk Ping v. Lau Choi Kee Papers Company Limited (DCCJ 3176/2023)- acting for a paper recycling company in resisting Summary Judgment based on alleged loans paid during a joint venture (as sole advocate)

- Advising a councillor of a Church in Hong Kong regarding measures against his unlawful removal from the Church as a director and member (as sole counsel)
- Advising a Texas-based marketing company regarding the enforcement measures of a US judgment debt against a HK-listed company incorporated in the Cayman Islands (as sole counsel)
- Advising an international data analytics company regarding cross-jurisdictional gambling and the extraterritorial elements of the Gambling Ordinance, Cap. 148 (led by John Reading SC)
