Before transforming into a barrister-at-law, Mr Chong has devoted himself for 8 years in multinational top-tier banks, managing portfolio of corporate clients in diversified industries; specialising in trade finance, commercial loan and structured investment; building up in-depth knowledge of different industry norms, regulatory regime and bank internal policy; handling corporate insolvency, money laundering prevention and fraud investigation; and equipping strong understanding of business culture, local practice and respective authorities in China.
Mr Chong has a mixed practice and has represented clients at different levels of Courts. For civil matters, he focuses on contractual claims, torts, shareholders’ disputes, winding up petitions and insolvency claims. In relation to criminal practice, he has represented defendants in bail applications, mitigations, trials and appeals. He also prosecutes as a Counsel-on-fiat.
